Exhibit: Hawai’i Nei Invitational: Species of Concern
The Volcano Art Center is proud to announce a curated, group exhibition focusing on Species Of Concern (SOC). Participating artists selected from the Hawai`I Nei 2021 Annual Art Contest celebrating Hawai`I Island’s native species. The Volcano Art Center further challenges these creative individuals to create new works of art that explore Species of Concern from the state of Hawaii. (SOC) are species about which there are some concerns regarding status and threats, but insufficient information is available to list the species under the Endangered Species Act. Species on this list include different designations – endangered, critically endangered, vulnerable, etc. VAC hopes the exhibition will bring awareness to these vulnerable species and conservation efforts to preserve them. This mixed media, multiple artists exhibition will be on display at VAC Gallery in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park from July 2nd – August 7th, 2022. The gallery is open daily from 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.
