Zentangle® Inspired Art: El Dia de los Muertos
with Lydia Meneses, Certified Zentangle Teacher
Saturday, October 14, 2017
10AM-1PM
El Dia de los Muertos – Day of the Dead is an ancient Mexican tradition. Today we celebrate this holiday on November 1st & 2nd. This holiday began as a day to give thanks for the harvest, but in time changed to honor ancestors, as well as to remember family members that have passed away. This is a very lively, decorative, and in some communities could be a very elaborate celebration!
Inspired by the joyful and festive Mexican-American ways of celebrating this holiday, Lydia has designed this Zentangle® session using lively colors and tangle designs inspired by Mexican artwork.
Participants will be guided using official Zentangle tools, plus other materials.
Students kit will include: Sakura IDenti pen, Sakura Gelly pen and tiles. Students will have an opportunity to tangle on their own “calavera” mold, if they wish.
Class will be guided with Zentangle’s traditional ceremony and method.
