Jan Hashi plans on performing a live painting demonstrations at VAC Gallery in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, from 11am -1pm on Saturday, October 12th, for those interested in learning more about her artistic processes and techniques. While the demonstration is free, park entrance fees apply.
“From the soul,” is how Kauai artist and gallery owner, Jan Hashi describes her loose and impressionistic painting style. Growing up in Arizona she had a lot of influential exposure to wonderful artists. With the world-class galleries of Scottsdale and Sedona close by the inspiration was always close at hand.

Luti Castro plans on performing a live painting demonstrations for those interested in learning more about his artistic processes and techniques, on the gallery porch, from 11am -1pm on Thursday, October 24, Saturday, November 9th, and Thursday, December 12th at VAC Gallery in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. While the demonstration is free, park entrance fees apply.
Originally from Brazil, Luti studied painting and woodwork at the Art Institute of Boston and at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Luti states “My paintings are an expression of my personal connection with nature. I paint what I see with oils on stainless steel. Art is a way to connect with people, bring people together, raise awareness and inspire new ideas.”
Aloha Friday cultural demonstrations are held each week from 11 am – 1 pm on the porch of Volcano Art Center Gallery in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. This month’s offerings include: Lauhala Weaving with Kuuipo Kalahiki-Morales. Visitors and kama’aina alike are invited to experience a free, hands-on workshop.
