Join Kapāpala Ranch Manager Lani Cran Petrie and her husband Bill on Thursday, June 22, at Volcano Art Center Niaulani Campus in Volcano Village. As a member and past President of the Hawai`i Cattlemen’s Association and an innovator in Hawai`i’s cattle ranching industry, Lani has a wealth of knowledge to pass along. Her presentation will cover the history of the 29,000-acre Kapāpala Ranch. She will also discuss the Great Mahele and what that meant for the area, starting with the plantation days, and the role of the National Park, State Forest Reserves, Public Highway, Ohaikea, and Kipuka Ki and their relationships to Kapāpala Ranch.
