Puppets on the Path, Volcano’s own environmental entertainers are returning to the Volcano Art Center for a light hearted retrospective of songs and puppetry. Coral Connections will be presented free to the community on Sunday, October 15, at 3 p.m.  at Volcano Art Center Niaulani campus. (19-4074 Old Volcano Road).
Creating original songs and stories based on Hawaii’s natural history, this production group draws audiences into the coral reef to explore life styles and habitats of many of the creatures who live in and visit Hawaii’s shallow reef waters. Performers include Kate Schuerch, Loren Brownlea and Dina Kageler.
Puppets on the Path started in 1983, in a workshop sponsored by the Volcano Art Center.  The enterprise grew throughout the 1980s and traveled widely throughout Hawaii and the mainland, bringing stories of Hawaii’s terrestrial and marine habitats to audiences of all ages. This year’s retrospective performance will feature highlights in songs, stories and puppetry reflecting the troupe’s decades of performances.
Join us for this first in a series of Puppets on the Path retrospective productions with lively “edutainment” for the entire family.
Although this performance is free, donations are greatly appreciated.
