Jazz in the Forest: JP & the Jazztones – Diva Jazz

You are invited to come and enjoy a swinging evening of jazz theater at the Volcano Art Center. Join us on Saturday, March 8th at 5:30 pm at the Volcano Art Center, for an evening of joyful vocal history of Diva Jazz.
The March 8th Jazz in the Forest first concert of the year will be a new incarnation of DIVA JAZZ that was so popular last year – again with costumes and a revival of our treasured American jazz history. “What a difference a day makes”. Our focus will be on the great vocal lineage of Dinah Washington and other memorable chanteuses who have left us with so many classic jazz examples of songs we hum and sing every day – perhaps. ” Unforgettable” – is what they are. We will prove that We Got Rhythm”, and we will Teach you tonight, with JP and the Jazztones. Come dance to “The Joint Is Jumpin”. Vocalist and pianist Leslie Harlib, will be singing along with our mystery star, and will be accompanied by JP on saxophone, Shawn James on bass and Owen Matsui on percussion.
Tickets are $25 for VAC members ($30 non-members)! Ticket holders will be able to purchase beer, wine, as well as pupu.
