We are thrilled to have you join our creative community. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore various techniques, work with different clays and develop skills at your own pace.

If you are a veteran of our ceramics program and feel confident in the procedures for maintaining the studio, we welcome you to join our open studio after a brief orientation with our new ceramics instructor/studio technician, Nakana.
If you are new to ceramics and to our facilities, we ask that you take an introductory/orientation class before enrolling in Open Studio.

Tuesdays Clay Class
from 4 – 6PM
February 4 – March 4 (4 sessions) No class on March 11
Saturday Clay Class
from 10am – Noon
February 1 – March 1 (4sessions) No class on February 15
Cost:
$130 for VAC members/ $150 for non-members
plus a $20 supply fee which includes 6lbs of clay (including glazes & firing)
Additional clay available for purchase at the Niaulani Office in 6lb increments.
Open Studio
Hours:
Monday-Friday from 10AM-4PM
Open Studio students must sign in/out of the log sheet provided in the studio before using the facilities.
Cost:
Open Studio students must be members of the Volcano Arts Center paid and in good standing for the year.
To use the ceramics facilities during the times above you have two options:
Open Studio Option 1: $150 per month
Open Studio Option 2: $20 a day (you must pre-register at VAC Niaulani Office, open Monday through Friday, from 10am – 4pm.)
A Supply fee of $20 covers the cost of 6lbs. of clay, glazes and firing costs. Additional clay may be purchased at the Niaulani Office.
