WEAVE SIZE: 1/8″ koana (width of pandanus strips used in plaiting)
PATTERNS: maka ʻoʻeno (twill weaving), kulipuʻu (design with zigzag stripes)
CLOSING: hiʻi (to finish an edge by folding forward or back to give a neat appearance) nihoniho (weaving style that creates points along an edge)
MATERIAL: lau hala (The pandanus or screw pine, Pandanus odoratissimus) and spider lily overlay, loulu (species of native fan palms, Pritchardia)
