WEAVE SIZE: 1/8” koana (width of pandanus strips used in plaiting, weft)
PATTERNS: maka ʻoʻeno (twill weaving), piko swirl
CLOSING: hiʻi (to finish an edge by folding forward or back to give a neat appearance) nihoniho (the weaving style that creates points along an edge)
MATERIAL: lau hala (The pandanus or screw pine, Pandanus odoratissimus), loulu (species of native fan palms, Pritchardia)
