Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. There are no mistakes in Zentangle Art.
As you first glance at a Zentangle art piece it appears intricate and complicated. But, when you are guided through the process, you realize how simple it is and how fun and engrossing it becomes.
Beginners learn the basic Zentangle art method of drawing and those with experience get the guidance they need to take their Zentangle practice a step further.
We will be moving beyond basics with your newly acquired Zentangle skills and create retro-ish floral designs inspired by Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles.
Learning Objectives:
- Introduction to the Zentangle Art Method
- Five elements: dot, straight line, S shape, C shape, & orb ( . / s c o)
- Zentangle basic vocabulary
- Benefits of meditation through a mindful drawing practice.
Materials:
All art materials are provided in the Zentangle Basics kit.
Student kit contains: Sakura PN pen, pencil and an assortment of paper tiles.
This class is open to all levels, Zentangle or art experience necessary. Limited space is available at this time. Students are encouraged to bring snacks/beverages to share.
Cost: $35/$30 VAC members plus $15 supply and facility fee.
