Volcano Art Center is proud to present an ongoing series of free Zentangle® at Volcano Art Center Gallery in Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park. The once a month offerings will meet on the second Saturday of each month from 10 – 11am. The series begins on November 12th with the following classes meeting on December 10th, January 14th and February 11th
Zentangle® is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. “If you can draw a dot, a line, a curved line, and a circle you can create Zentangle® art, states Lois Stokes, CZT (Certified Zentangle® Teacher). “At first glance it looks like you are doodling but take this to another level and find that the drawing of repetitive patterns brings you to a state of relaxed focus that some refer to as meditation. Zentangle® can remove blocks and open the door to inspiration,” Lois explains.
The offerings will include a one hour demonstration on the porch of VAC gallery. Supplies of Zentangle® tiles, pens and pencils will be provided. Basically everything you need to get started and to provide an understanding of the art of Zentangle®. Basic techniques of tangling (drawing patterns) will be covered and participants will create at least one and possibly more works of Zentangle® Art. These programs are supported, in part, by the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, through appropriations from the Legislature of the State of Hawai‘i.
I have been attending all Zentangle classes in this series, and would like to again attend tomorrow’s class. Sat. 1/14, 10:00. Please reserve a seat for me if still possible.
Aloha Gayle,
