Thursday Nights at the Center: “National Parks Illustrations 1978 through 2016” Presentation & Exhibition Opening with John Dawson

Volcano Art Center will be displaying the illustrations of Big Island wildlife artist John Dawson. The exhibit, “National Parks Illustrations 1978 through 2016” features illustrations and natural history studies designed for the National Parks Service over a 20 period. As a part of this exhibition Dawson will discuss illustrations and natural history studies designed for the National Parks Service over a 20 period.

An opening reception followed by an artist’s presentation will be held on Thursday, August 11th in the Great Room of Volcano Art Center’s Administrative offices. The reception begins at 6:00 pm with the presentation at 7:00 pm.

This event is part of Thursday Nights at the Center, an evening series at the Volcano Art Center, focusing on art, Hawaiian culture and our environment. The series is intended to inspire, enhance our art and life experience and foster community connections. The event is FREE, but a $5 donation is greatly appreciated.
