Thursday Night at the Center: Little Fire Ants Presentation with the Big Island Invasive Species Committee (BIISC)
You’ve heard the horror stories of infestation from neighbors and friends. You’ve seen how they’ve clouded the vision of others’ beloved pets. Or perhaps you’ve experienced firsthand the perils of living with Little Fire Ants. Now Little Fire Ants have been found in Volcano. Please join the Big Island Invasive Species Committee to learn more about how to control this pest. Learn how the biology & behavior of ants affect treatment, which products are most effective & how to use them for best results, and how to create a plan for the best long-term control and prevention. Before the evening’s event, survey your property & bring frozen ant samples to be identified. Attendees may also find out how to get a free demo day with pesticide application for their neighborhood.
Join the Big Island Invasive Species Committee (BIISC) staff on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 7 – 9pm for a presentation on Little Fire Ants at Volcano Art Center Ni‘aulani Campus in Volcano Village. This presentation is free, although a $5 donation to Volcano Art Center is greatly appreciated.
This program was made possible through funding from the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, the Hawai‘i County Council and the Hawai‘i Invasive Species Council. This evening is part of a once-a-month Thursday night series at the Volcano Art Center, focusing on art, Hawaiian culture and our environment. The series is intended to inspire, enhance your appreciation of art and life experience, while fostering community connections.
