Holiday Beading Workshop for Children with Rona Smith
Big Island artist and instructor Rona Smith teaches the Holiday Beading for Children workshop on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, from 3:30 – 5pm at Volcano Art Center Niaulani Campus in Volcano Village. The workshop is open for children ages 6 – 14.
In this hands-on workshop, students will use stone, glass and metal beads to make two stretchy cord bracelets to give as gifts, as well as a beaded metal bell ornament for their family. The class will offer a treasure trove of beads for the children to work with in creating their pieces as they learn about the origins of the beads and some basics of design.
The cost is $20/$18 VAC Members plus a $20 fee per person, inclusive of supplies. Due to social distancing measures, the class size will be limited. Students must wear a CDC recommended face covering during class.
Rona Smith has worked with children for over 40 years and is an avid bead artist and collector. Since childhood, she has collected various beads and other treasures.
