Come and celebrate with us on Saturday, October 19, 2024, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at VAC Niaulani Campus (19-4074 Old Volcano Road). Everyone is cordially invited to the yearlong celebration of the Volcano Art Center’s (VAC) 50 years of existence. We will start with a blessing and light pupu.
To commemorate this milestone event, we will be sealing a Volcano Art Center “Time Capsule”. The time capsule will contain biographies of many of our past and current artist, artwork of our young and upcoming artists, along with historical documents featuring some events, programs, and services that VAC has offered to our community over the past 50 years.Special complements and appreciation go out the VAC time capsule sculptor, Michael Shewmaker who will create a commemorative seal for the time capsule which will be reopened in 25 years, perhaps by the same young artists who donated their individual creations.
