Beginning Bead Embroidery with Cabochons with Rona Smith, 1/7
Thursdays, 3:30 – 5:00 pm, January 7 – February 11
A series of 6 bead embroidery classes for children ages 10 to 14 at Volcano Art Center’s Niaulani Campus. This class will teach the basics of bead embroidery using cabochons, semi precious stone, Austrian crystals and glass seed beads. Each student will create their own unique bead medallion to embellish an item of their choice (ie. – clothing, journal, back pack, school bag, purse) or to frame as a piece of art. In the final class, with the medallions complete, the teacher will adhere the work to the desired item, as the students create a fun, bonus, bead project.
Rona Smith has been creating with bead embroidery for the past 25 years. She combines her 40 plus years of teaching young children with her love of creating beadwork.
