Bringing it to Life (Make Your Colors Glow) with Esther Szegedy 

Explore new art techniques using wax pastels with artist Esther Szegedy on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 9am – 12pm at Volcano Art Center Ni‘aulani Campus.

In the “Bringing it to Life (Make Your Colors Glow)” workshop, you’ll create your own two dimensional piece of artwork using nontoxic wax based pastel crayons on black pastel paper with a velvety surface. This workshop is about blending colors to make your subject look three dimensional and come to life! Esther will show you how to use layers of color to make the result more interesting.

Cost for the workshop is $45 and $40 for VAC Members plus a $10 supply fee per person. Beginner and intermediate artists are welcome. The pastels are water based, making cleanup quick and easy.

Esther Szegedy is a professional children’s books illustrator and author, with experience in both the educational and trade books fields. She is a member of SCBWI (Societe of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators).
