Kamapuaʻa (A Pig Demigod), PA22 giclee print by Dietrich Varez
Born a pig, Kamapuaʻa was a kapua, or shape-changer, and could assume the body of a hog,
a handsome young man or even a fish. He was a notorious thief and relentless womanizer. His
greatest conquest being the volcano goddess, Pele, with whom he had a tempestuous affair.
