“Ophid, (Latin for Reptilian) is an energetic spiral form fabricated from high grade stainless steel that is polished and nothing more. The polished surface is the antithesis of the organic form that it represents and is a commentary on the ridiculously inhumane existence we have created for ourselves. If successful the piece should come across, at the same time, both beautiful and horrific.” -Michael Shewmaker
