The rare Palila Bird (Loxioides bailleui) dines on the toxic Mamane tree
(Sophora chrysophylla).
This Critically Endangered Bird enjoys eating all parts of this tree, toxic to all other Hawaiian Birds.
Their habitat has diminished to only a small area high
on the slopes of Mauna Kea. This beautiful, unique
Bird is full of Life & Hope in the Rosy Fingered Dawn.
