“I have been looking at Japanese kumiko for many years now and finally decided to try to make a lamp using the asanoha design on the shade. Traditionally, kumiko involves using only hand tools, but I used a table saw for all my cuts plus a little glue to make sure it stayed together. I glued the rice paper to the plexiglass to give it a little more strength.” -Nick
