“I have been looking at Japanese kumiko for many years now and finally decided to try to make a lamp using the asanoha design on the shade. Traditionally, kumiko involves using only hand tools, but I used a table saw for all my cuts plus a little glue to make sure it stayed together. I glued the rice paper to the plexiglass to give it a little more strength.” -Nick

Nick has been working with wood since high school wood shop. From making simple shelves to building houses, he enjoys the look, feel, scent, color and grain designs of wood-plus it is easy for him to work with and is a renewable source.
