Born from sand and fire, the tiny whimsical pieces created by sculptor Nash Adams-Pruitt are an embodiment of the craft of flameworking. Nash Adams-Pruitt works with Borosilicate Glass and specializes in flameworking, whereby the artist utilizes a hand-held high-temperature torch to get the glass moving. Once in a viscous state, the glass is blown and shaped with small hand tools; forming beads, figurines, or other similar miniature artwork. The artwork is then annealed in a kiln to release stress within the glass and to reduce breakage.
A true craftsperson, Nash creates fanciful, playful miniature goblets and sculptures with beautiful iridescent and translucent glass.
