Wa’a Humu, print L66, by Dietrich Varez.  Humu means to sew, so “wa’a humu” means sewn canoe.  Not all canoes were dugouts.  Some were made of planks tied together with sennit cord and chalked with breadfruit gum; hence, “sewn canoe.”

This is a giclée reproduction print on archival paper.

Dimensions: 18″ x 24″
