The Water Gatherers celebrates the beloved ʻōhiʻa lehua, pillar of the forest and conduit between the celestial waters – waters brought to earth from the stars – and the oceans, riverlets, soils, and ultimately our own liquid bodies. Created from reclaimed fishing nets and lines and hand-laminated household wax paper, the installation both honors and questions our our relationship to this cosmic water cycle.
