Queen Liliʻuokalani, Ipu by Karen Valentine
This ipu (gourd), one of a kind, is crafted by artist Karen Valentine with the traditional Hawaiian decorating method called Pawehe. It honors the last ruling monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom, reigning from 1891 until the illegal overthrow by the United States of America in 1893.
