This figurative sculpture represents two persons, a woman and child, staring at the stars together. It was inspired by the experience between mother in child and their shared sense of awe in front of the beauty of the universe. The sculpture is glazed to mimic a bronze patina to harmonize with the surrounding environment. “The original small maquette of this piece dates back to twenty years ago when my daughter was a child. The sculpture is imagined to convey an expression of wonder and peace.”
This piece is part of the Gathering Light Exhibition at the Niaulani Sculpture Garden presented at Volcano Art Center’s Niaulani Campus in Volcano Village.
