Make Hau Cordage with Hui Olonā Love.  Hands-on experience learning to twist and braid Hau cordage, traditionally known as ʻili hau.  Hau cordage is a strong, durable rope made from the inner bark of the hau (beach hibiscus) tree. In ancient Hawaiʻi, the lack of metal nails ment cordage was essential for daily survival.  Hau cordage was traditionally vital in lashing canoes, structure construction, and in creating fishing nets.
