Volcano Art Center Gallery
Building #42, Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, HI 96718
Hula Arts at Kilauea: Hula Kahiko performance on November 14th featuring Stacy Kaʻauʻa with Unuokeahi is held outdoors at the kahua hula (hula platform) in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Park entry fees apply. (808) 967-7565. The monthly performances are supported in part by the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
These performances occur on the second Saturday of each month, without electronic amplification in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Events take place at the kahua hula (hula platform) located in the grassy area near the Volcano Art Center Gallery.
Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mats and/or chairs due to tephra fall still present in the lawn after recent volcanic events at the summit area. Please plan on arriving early due to limited parking at the Kīlauea Visitor Center. Due to ongoing construction in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park we suggest carpooling, arriving early, and preparing to walk from overflow parking available at the Kūkamāhuākea (Steam Vents) parking lot. While this is a free event sponsored by Hawaiʻi Tourism and Hawaiʻi Council of Native Advancement, National Park entrance fees apply.
Be prepared for last minute cancellations of the program in case of eruption activity or lava fountaining. For the most up-to-date information please call (808) 967-7565. The gallery is open daily from 9am -5pm. For more information please contact Emily C. Weiss at info@volcanoartcenter.org.
