Join VAC for the double feature of Voices at VAC Niaulani Campus (19-4074 Old Volcano Road) on October 8th, at 5PM., featuring renowned local fashion and textile artist Irisgil Viacrusis. Over the past several years, Iolani Palace has commissioned Viacrusis to create historically correct reproductions of gowns and uniforms worn by the ali‘i during the Kalākaua era. In this unique presentation Viacrusis combines a rare PowerPoint presentation with his own experience of his reproductions of King Kalākaua’s formal coronation suit and regalia and his formal Masonic suit with regalia. Both are currently on permanent display at Iolani Palace. This presentation is supported by Hawaiʻi Tourism.
