The Volcano Art Center is pleased to announce Hula Kahiko programs in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. These programs are supported by Hawai’i Tourism.
2026 Performances
September 12th – Manaiakalani Kalua with Akaunu
October 10th – Iwalani Kalima – Halau Kou Lima Nani
November 14th- Stacy Kaʻauʻa with Unuokeahi
December 12th – Naoho Kanahele w/ Halau Kaleo a Keahilpalapa
These performances occur on the second Saturday of each month, without electronic amplification in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park at the kahua hula (hula platform) located in the grassy area near the Volcano Art Center Gallery. Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mats and/or chairs due to tephra fall still present in the lawn after recent volcanic events at the summit area. Please plan on arriving early due to limited parking at the Kīlauea Visitor Center. Due to ongoing construction in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park we suggest carpooling, arriving early, and preparing to walk from overflow parking available at the Kūkamāhuākea (Steam Vents) parking lot. While this is a free event sponsored by Hawaiʻi Tourism and Hawaiʻi Council of Native Advancement, National Park entrance fees apply.
