In this workshop you will:
• Learn the history and uses of
the first edible plants
brought to Hawaii.
• Explore five or more
different canoe plants and
how to prepare them.
• Gain hands-on experience making recipes
from start to finish. Including a salad, main
course, dessert and more.
• Discuss the nutritional, social & economic
benefits of buying locally grown produce.
• Enjoy the meal prepared together.
Includes:
• Class handout with recipes
• A family style meal
We will use in-season produce
like:
Breadfruit, Sweet potato,
Turmeric, Taro, Sugarcane, Banana, Coconut,
Mountain apple, Ti and other locally grown
produce.
