A chance encounter with a pair of Nēnē headed for Pāhala. While picking ʻōhelo berries on the side of Mauna Loa, two nēnē perform two flyovers before landing in an open area next to me. As we frolicked together in the brush gathering berries, a rainbow appeared and we all couldn’t help but admire its beauty. Before long they were in the air again, heading South.
