Opihi, Porcelain Necklace by Kimberly Langston Hagen
“These sculptural pieces are hand carved and sculpted from the very finest porcelain clay, and have been cast from a mold of a genuine sea urchin test we found while diving along the coast here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Each piece goes through several firings, with several stages of glazing. The faces of the beads have a colored underglaze, and the edges and bumps are glazed with a genuine white or yellow gold glaze.” – Kimberly
These wearable art pieces are made of the same material as fine china. Porcelain shares many of the same properties as glass; these are delicate, super light, and if you treat them kindly they will last generations.
