“Puʻuhonua is Hawaiian for place and refuge. My place and refuge over the past two years was in HOPE. Inspiration came from David Hockneyʻs painting of a forest with a path leading the way out towards the sunlight. HOPE kept me going during the dark times as I knew there would be a brighter day.” – Monica
