This small red-colored honey creeper can be found in native forests above 4,000ft in Hawai‘i.

This native bird is the most abundant in Niaulani and Kilauea summit area rainforests.

These honey creepers move quickly and can be seen in the upper canopy of the rainforest or along the red lehua flowers.
