SUMMARY:Tuesday Afternoon Clay Classes with Monika Mann
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday  Afternoons 3:30 – 6:30pm.  (6 week session) beg
 inning Tuesday\, July 15  – August 19. Have you experienced the pleas
 ure of putting your own handmade functional pottery into use? All skill 
 levels are welcome to join us at Volcano Art Center’s ceramic studio.\
 n\nTeaching artist\, Monika Mann\, will provide instruction for this cla
 ss including demonstrations of wheel throwing methods and be available f
 or individualized assistance. Those new to clay will be guided step by s
 tep through the basics of using the potter’s wheel or handbuilding tec
 hniques. Continuing students and those with previous experience are enco
 uraged to develop their skills and are welcome to pursue more advanced d
 irections with the instructor’s helpful input. Informal discussion on 
 topics ranging from sources of creative inspiration to various pottery s
 tyles and traditions from around the world will supplement this hands-on
  learning experience.\n\nOpen to beginning as well as continuing student
 s.\n\nCost for the afternoon session is $185/$165 for VAC Members plus a
  $20 materials fee for 6 lbs of clay\, which includes glazes and firing.
   Additional clay available in 6lb increments  for $20 (includes firin
 g and additional glazes).\n\n\nOpen studio time will be available to reg
 istered students Monday – Friday\, from 10am – 4pm. Cost is $150 per
  month or $20 per day\,  You can register at the Administration Office 
 front desk during business hours (10am – 4pm\, Monday – Friday) or c
 all 808-967-8222.  Must be registered for a ceramics class to participa
 te.
