DESCRIPTION:Hula Hālau o kou lima nani e\, has been thriving for 39 yea
 rs. Kumu Hula Iwalani Kalima a student of Uncle George Naʻope.\nThe nam
 e of the hālau was given to me by my kumu: Hula Hālau O Kou Lima Nani 
 E (School of loving hula hands). Our hula school is based in Keaukaha of
  Hilo HI. The ages of my students are 4 years old to Kupuna. We have don
 e many performances and have competited in the Merrie Monarch Festival. 
 Students learn Hula kahiko and Hula ʻAuana\, Oli\, Hua ʻOlelo\, Hana N
 oʻeau.  Keeping the hula in our lives is truly a wonderful life style.
   We are proud to share the hula with the world. It is the connection t
 o Hawaiʻi. “E ola mau i ka hula” a me “Aʻoha pau ʻike kau hāla
 u i hoʻokahi”\nSituated on Kīlauea volcano the Volcano Art Center (V
 AC) promotes and perpetuates arts and culture. The dynamic location insp
 ires the sharing of authentic Hula Kahiko performances as well as other 
 arts and traditions of hula. VAC with support from Hawaiʻi Tourism Auth
 ority is proud to announce free events which promote and perpetuate Nati
 ve Hawaiian arts and culture. Join the Volcano Art Center on the second 
 Saturday of each month for a free\, live hula performance.\n\nThe presen
 tation is presented authentically in an outdoor setting\, rain or shine 
 without electronic amplification. Audience members are encouraged to bri
 ng sun/rain gear and sitting mats\, and to arrive early as parking at th
 e Visitor’s Center is limited\, additional parking is available at the
  Steam Vents parking lot. The Volcano Art Center is a non-profit art and
  educational organization created in 1974 to promote\, develop\, and per
 petuate the artistic and cultural heritage of Hawai‘i’s people and e
 nvironment through activities in the visual\, literary\, and performing 
 arts.
