Watercolor Painting Demonstration with Diana Miller at VAC Gallery

Please join the Volcano Art Center Gallery in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park for a free visual arts demonstration on Sunday, December 4th, 2022, from 11 am – 1 pm.  Artist Diana Miller, from Oahu, will be will be demonstrating her original watercolor paintings with visitor to Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.  The demonstration will take place on the Volcano Art Center Gallery porch.

In 1975 Diana graduated with a degree in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from the University of Maryland at College Park. In 1979 Diana enlisted in the US Air Force. After Basic Training, she was assigned to the Defense Language Institute (DLI) to study Russian.

While enrolled in studies at the DLI, she applied to Officers Training School and was accepted, followed by her commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1980. Throughout her 25-year career, she was assigned to bases in Washington State, South Korea, Japan, Guam and Hawaiʻi. She also traveled around the world on temporary duty assignments to include Saudi Arabia, Kosovo, Australia, Philippines, United Kingdom and Thailand. Her final duty station was at Hickam AFB, Hawaiʻi where she later retired in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2004.
Following retirement, Diana relocated to the Island of Hawaiʻi to an off-grid house located on 3 forested acres. Since 2008, Diana has held various positions at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park within the Interpretation division learning and sharing about the native environment, culture, and amazing geologic history of Hawaiʻi.
