Hapa-Haole Hula Workshop: Hawaiian Room Style!

Come learn a fun hapa-haole hula routine straight from the Hawaiian Room era!  Workshop leader TeMoana Makolo worked as a choreographer and dancer in New York City’s famed Hawaiian Room in the 1960s, the final years of this famed establishment. Auntie TeMoana Kauinohea Makolo was raised in Kalihi, O’ahu, and reared in hula by her aunties, the legendary Hula masters Leilani and Puanani Alama. She has produced shows and worked in travel on the continental U.S. and here in Hawai’i. “Auntie Te” continues to share her love of hula with women and children through the DOE’s Kupuna Program and the Queen’s Hospital cancer survivor hula class.
