Book Signing Event: Amalya’s Beads: Journeys Along a Philippine River by Dina Wood Kageler
VAC is honored to showcase the recently published memoir of a long standing member, instructor and volunteer Dina Wood Kageler. A book of stories, history, tradition, drama and mystery, the recent publication recounts the story of how the U.S. Peace Corps provided Dina an avenue out of the only world she had known, and took her into the mountainous regions of the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippine archipelago where she lived among people whose lives were little known beyond their mountain homeland. Dina’s stories are crafted from her detailed journals and letters home. Come meet the author and get an autographed copy. Dina will be signing at VAC’s Niaulani Campus at 19-4074 Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village of Friday, and will also be signing on Sunday at VAC Gallery in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park on Sunday.
