Pele’s Glass Creations began with a Puna artist, David Karl, who recently passed away. He generously offered his creative genius to Philip Tigner who had been living nearby and had been helping David out with his art business for about five years. Philip was then invited to become a serious apprentice with David and to learn his style in the art of fused glass.
“I am originally from Michigan, where I had worked in a printing company for 15 years, and then opened my own New Age coffee/book store. I then moved to Pahoa, Hawai’i in lower Puna.”
