About Volcano Village
Volcano VillageLocated at an elevation of nearly 4,000' in a lovely rainforest setting, the intimate, friendly community of Volcano Village, with approximately 2,500 residents, welcomes visitors year-round.
Volcano Village hosts a visitors' center, post office, laundromat, Sunday morning Farmers Market, and a diverse selection of accommodations. Volcano Village boasts a range of restaurants, allow for fine or casual, decadent and vegetarian dining, and local businesses such as stores and shops offer groceries, gas, video rentals, ATM machines, internet access, arts & crafts, tropical flowers, and more. The Volcano Winery and Volcano Golf & Country Club are located just a few miles away.
Volcano VillageVolcano's weather can be variable, from clear and warm to cool and rainy. Dressing in layers and being prepared for rain is always a good idea. Average yearly rainfall varies between 100" and 125" with temperatures usually between 50 to 75 degrees.
Volcano Village is located in the Puna district of East Hawai'i, just off Highway 11 (between mile markers 26 & 28) near Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. This is approximately 30 miles (about a 45 minute drive) from Hilo and 100 miles (about a 2 1/2 hour drive) from Kailua-Kona. Inside the park, Kilauea Military Camp provides accommodations, a bowling center and game room, as well as a theater for concerts and performances.
