Zentangle® Inspired Art: Milagros

During this Zentangle Inspired Art session we will make the classic heart shape Mexican Milagro the focus for creating our tiles. We’ll mix this traditional heart shape with our Zentangle art skills to create unique Milagros. What are milagros?
Milagros are small metal charms that may be molded in many different shapes such as body parts, like a heart, legs, hand or even in shapes of animals and everyday items. The word milagro means “miracle”. In some areas of Mexico these charms are used as an offering to a Saint for a healing or in trade for a favor. The Milagros comes in various sizes from less than 1⁄2 inch to several inches.
Student kits include:
General chalk pastel pencil and tortillion
Custom made stencils
Zentangle tiles.
Students are always encouraged to bring their own favorite art tools.
Class will be guided with Zentangle’s traditional ceremony and method.

Students will be gently reminded to practice mindfulness as they work on their art piece, “ One stroke, one breath…” This class is open to all levels, no Zentangle or artistic experience is required. Please bring a snack to share. Cost is $35/$30 VAC Members plus a $15 fee, inclusive of supplies.
