Zentangle® Inspired Art: Foliations
with Dina Wood Kageler, Certified Zentangle Teacher
Saturday, September 16, 2017
10AM-1PM
Zentangle®-inspired patterns that lean into nature will be the focus in this easy-to-learn style of representational art. Certified Zentangle Teacher and Volcano artist Dina Wood Kageler will lead the class in explorations of leaves, flowers and foliage of backyards and native habitats of Hawaii. Through exaggeration, curving lines and repetitive strokes the class will embellish shapes and colors of nature.
Although watercolor experience and familiarity with the Zentangle method are desirable, experience is not required. Returning tanglers are encouraged to bring your pencil and 01 pen along with other tools of choice, especially watercolor pens. Loaner pens, pencils and watercolors will be available.
This class is Part 3 of the 2017 botanical Zentangle-inspired series — Five Ferns, Lava Landscapes, and Foliations as led by Kageler. Experience in the previous classes is helpful, but is not required.
Join us for this exploration of the shapes and colors of Hawaii’s natural landscapes.
Very light snacks will be served. Cost is $35/$30 VAC members plus a $10 supply fee.
