There are ever-increasing numbers of fluent Hawaiian speakers and now you can begin to learn this rich and vibrant language.

Papa ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi Part Five will be offered for 8 weeks every Thursday night beginning January 10 through February 28, 2019 from 5pm – 6:30pm. This basics class will focus on expanding simple vocabulary, conversation, grammar, and sentence structure. Some basic Hawaiian language experience is preferred.

Classes will be held at Volcano Art Center’s Ni‘aulani Campus. Fee for the class is $90 and $80 for VAC members. The required workbook for the class is Nā Kai ʻEwalu and it is available at the UH Hilo bookstore. It is also recommended for students to have a Hawaiian language dictionary.
