Want to learn some native plants, help restore a beautiful rainforest, and get some exercise?   Then you are invited to join  Tim Tunison for a special training on Saturday, February 1, from 1-3 PM at the Niaulani Campus in Volcano Village to help restore the beautiful Niaulani Forest behind the Volcano Art Center.  This free event is an opportunity for individuals,  families, and organizations to connect with nature and each other while helping perpetuate a four-acre species-rich and inspirational old growth `ōhi`a and koa rainforest.

This 2-hour offering is specifically designed for guides, would-be guides or those that want more information than a typical forest walk provides. This will be a casual event on the Niaulani Trail where you will get to interact with other guides and share facts, tips and suggestions. We hope you can make it. The training is free, please RSVP to Emily at gallery@volcanoartcenter.org to reserve your space.  This program supported by Hawaii Tourism’s Aloha Aina Program.

No experience or tools are required however registration is required.  Volunteers should bring gloves and rain gear in case of wet weather.  VAC’s Niaulani Campus is located at 19-4074 Old Volcano Road.  To register, contact Volcano Art Center at (808)967-8222.
