Where: Multiple locations in Volcano, Hawaii
Why: To celebrate and share this thriving community of artists, scientists, entrepreneurs and cultural practitioners
This two day event is slated for July 27th and 28th. Over the course of the weekend residents and visitors alike can enjoy art, food, music and performances.
Events span the whole of Volcano, from Akatsuka Orchid Gardens to the Volcano Winery, with a concentration of activities in the heart of historic Volcano Village. This two day event, slated for the July 27th through 28th weekend, will feature art, food, music and performances.
Restaurants will be featuring special menus along with the beloved standards. Visitors will be invited to get directly involved with the creation of artwork through make and take projects at Volcano Garden Arts and see ongoing art demonstrations at the Volcano Art Center’s Niaulani Campus. Live local music will be on the menu at Lava Rock Cafe all weekend.
Long appreciated as one of the ‘hidden gems’ of Hawaii, Volcano is more than just a gateway to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The community has come together to host the first annual Experience Volcano Festival, a celebration of arts and culture that springs from this creative rain forest community, to showcase and share it with residents and visitors.
Those are just a taste of what this two-day celebration has in the works. And better yet, all events will be free of charge. So mark your calendars now and, if you are visiting, take advantage of the many lodging opportunities Volcano has to offer.
